Mr. Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder is a Prominent social worker & former Member of the Parliament.

Mr. Mazumder has been involved in export sector business for the last 35 years. Particularly he pioneered in the export oriented ready-made garments industries. In addition Mazumder is an eminent Tea planter.

Mr. Hafiz Mazumder is associated with many social welfare activities. He contributed in education sector by establishing "Hafiz Mazumder Education Trust". The trust provides financial assistance to build new schools and colleges as well as improve the quality of the education in Sylhet district. Many academic institutions in Sylhet district are receiving fund from this trust. Of them "Scholars Home" has gained high reputation in Sylhet in which the national curriculum is taught in English version.
